A free event at the Olney Theater this coming Sunday, July 10 at 5:00pm ~ there will be a presentation "ISM" which consists of an original collection of monologues by the BIPOC Deaf individuals dealing with audism, ableism, racism, and other related-” isms” in their lives. This play highlights the actors’ life experiences of oppression and discrimination before and during the inception of the Black Lives Matter movement and the pandemic. The goal is to help make a positive change by sharing their stories and finding solutions to societal issues. An ISM, it would allow the actors to be the “voice” of social change.![]()
This performance will be a shortened presentation of the full piece, originally conceived by Visionaries of the Creative Arts (VOCA) and performed last fall. There will be a community conversation with the performers so they would love for you to go there and also help spread the word about this event and impactful performance. ![]()
Tickets for "ISM" presentation on July 10 are FREE, but they ask you to RSVP as there is limited seating. To reserve tickets, please click this link www.olneytheatre.org/whats-playing/ism. ![]()

Last Friday evening, we had a total of 22 people attending the tour at the Ellicott Distilling Co. ( we had to split into two groups at different times due to limited space in the kitchen area ). The owner’s wife was very gracious and explained in depth how the liquor are made. She gave us samples of different liquors to taste. The favorite one was Blueberry ( made from real blueberries ) and several guests bought this one. Afterwards, everyone chatted at the bar upstairs that provide delicious food. When you are in the Old Ellicott City area, please go there and support their business. See pictures below
